LED WASH & MOVING WASH

LED Wash Lights for Stage Coverage and Color Control

Plan the illuminated area first, then compare moving wash, static wash and multi-cell effects by field quality, zoom, color and operating conditions.

COVERAGE PLANNER

Choose the wash architecture from the area that must be covered.

A good wash is judged across the complete field, not by a bright center point.

POSITION

Static PAR or wash

Fixed positions for stage zones, scenery, rooms and truss coverage.

MOVEMENT

Moving-head wash

Repositionable coverage with pan, tilt and zoom for changing stage pictures.

LENS EFFECT

Bee-eye or multi-cell wash

Visible lens effects and pixel looks when the fixture itself is part of the scene.

ENVIRONMENT

Outdoor wash

Complete-fixture protection for exposed positions and temporary outdoor work.

FIELD QUALITY

Test what happens between narrow and wide zoom.

Compare edge softness, center-to-edge uniformity, color consistency, overlap and useful output at real distances.

01

Narrow position

Check usable punch, edge behavior and whether the field remains even.

02

Wide position

Check coverage loss, lens artifacts and color consistency at full spread.

03

Overlapping fields

Check dark seams, hot spots and mixed-color uniformity across adjacent fixtures.

BUYER FAQ

Resolve category-level decisions before comparing quotations.

Model-specific claims still need to be checked on the exact product and ordered sample.

What is an LED wash light?

An LED wash light produces a broad, usually soft-edged field for coloring performers, scenery or spaces. Models differ in movement, zoom, color system, lens layout and environmental protection.

When should a moving head wash be used?

Use a moving wash when coverage positions or zoom must change during the production. A fixed PAR or wash can be more practical when the lighting zones remain constant.

Are bee-eye lights the same as wash lights?

Bee-eye fixtures can provide wash output, but their visible multi-lens effects and pixel control may be equally important. Confirm both field quality and the lens effects required.

How should wash uniformity be checked?

Project the exact sample onto a neutral surface at representative distances. Compare the center, edges, mixed colors, zoom positions and overlaps between fixtures.

What matters for camera-facing wash lighting?

Test the actual camera settings, dimming, color, white light and refresh behavior. Do not infer camera performance from source wattage alone.

What information is needed for a wash-light quotation?

Provide the coverage area, throw, positions, color and white-light tasks, camera use, movement or zoom needs, environment, quantity, voltage, plug and destination.

BUYING DECISIONS

How do you compare bee-eye wash fixtures?

Use the required field and cue to compare RG-1940B and RG-1915. Their 19×40W and 19×15W source configurations identify different models; they are not whole-fixture power ratings or measured-output rankings.

01ORDER CHECK

Coverage or front-lens effects?

For scenery and stage zones, compare useful field, edge and overlap at the required throw. For visible lens patterns, include the rotating front disc and RGB-strip cue where the model provides it. A lens-effect demonstration does not establish even performer coverage.

Review the 19×40W model

02ORDER CHECK

Compare at the same setting

Shortlist the 19×15W version separately and test the same target, angle and mixed color. Both current supplied spot-angle references span 4–60°, but that does not prove equal output, uniformity or noise. Choose with the venue cue, not the largest source number.

Review the 19×15W model

03ORDER CHECK

Quote the mode you will operate

Confirm which channel mode exposes the required strip, movement and effect controls, and obtain its profile. Ask for the ordered fixture's electrical, mounting and environmental information separately; do not calculate input power from summed LED bead ratings.
